After spending the day around town with Chris, Ashley checked her watch one final time. She grinned, knowing it was time to make good on her deal with Darren. She and Chris had spent the day shopping and strolling about, and basically doing anything Ashley could think of to distract Chris. It must have worked because he didn’t once bring up the fact that it was his and Darren’s “halfiversary.” When they got in the car after unloading their spoils in the backseat, Ashley grinned. “So we have one final stop… you promised me a sunset date,” she said. It was something they used to do all the time together, even after just a hectic day at work. They’d go down to the beach for a light picnic and watch the sun set over the horizon. They really hadn’t had time for it in a while, so Ashley was happy to use is as a pretense for getting Chris where he needed to be. “You ready boo?” she asked.
